Why Use a Realtor?

For most people, a home is a fulfillment of the American dream.  One of the few material possessions that conveys pride of ownership at the same time it provides safe harbor for life's storms.

For most people, a home is also their biggest investment.

Why trust anyone but a REALTOR -- a trained professional -- to handle that investment?

Although many people confuse the terms, a REALTOR is not the same as a real estate agent.  Not all real estate agents are REALTORS, however, so many real estate agents have decided to join their local, state and national associations of REALTORS that now the term REALTOR have become virtually synonymous with the term real estate agent.

That's like saying every copy machine is a Xerox.

When you see the term REALTOR after a salesperson's name, it means that a real estate licensee has joined their local, state and national association of REALTORS.  It also means that they've agreed to abide by the REALTORS' tough Code of Ethics -- a standard of behavior that exceeds that required by the state's licensing authority.
