Revised CABR Purchase Contract Training – August 2015
More About the Class
In 2014, a Joint Task Force comprised of members of the Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS® and the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® finalized a regional purchase contract to bring to the memberships of both Boards. And, as always, changes in regulations, in the way real estate business is conducted and feedback received result in changes to the forms we use.
New Closing Disclosure Regulations go into effect August 1, 2015. The Joint Task Force reviewed these regulations to see how they could affect the purchase contract. They also reviewed feedback that was submitted to both Boards from the memberships to see if clarifications/amendments should be considered. As a result, some changes have been made to the Contract to Purchase.
The Contract to Purchase will now address requirements of the Closing Disclosure Regulations. It is in your and your client’s best interests to get up to speed on the new contract, get it in stock and be ready to use it beginning August 1. After August 1, CABR will no longer endorse or support any previous versions of the CABR Contract to Purchase. The new contract will be available as a pdf at cabr.org under the secure sign-on, in the CABR Contracts and Forms section. However, it should not be used prior to August 1, 2015. An interactive version will be available once the regulations are in effect. Print orders for the new contract are currently being taken.
It is highly recommended that you attend the class on the new contract, so you are prepared to use it when the new regulations take effect.
