Ohio Division of Real Estate All Programs UPDATE
The Division of Real Estate & Professional Licensing (Division) would like to update all of our programs impacted by COVID-19. As you know, we are experiencing a national health crisis that is affecting our ability to provide customer service at our expected level of excellence. Currently the Division has postponed walk-in services and will no longer accept walk-in customers to help stop the community spread of COVID-19. Additionally, many of our staff are working remotely. We ask for your patience as we continue to prioritize processing applications and issue licenses. Please note that a large majority of the Division services are available online https://www.com.ohio.gov/real/default.aspx . Here is the latest guidance we can provide as of March 20:
The Division is adjusting our operational priorities due to COVID-19. We will continue to process applications and issue licenses according to the priorities below. Homeowner Assistance Options
Hardship programs are in place for homeowners impacted by COVID-19 and struggling to make their mortgage payments. The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is offering those who have been directly or indirectly affected by coronavirus to reach out to their mortgage provider as soon as possible.
As the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau advises, “you can find the number for your mortgage service on your monthly mortgage statement or coupon book.”
If you have mortgages with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they have their own dedicated webpages for homeowners, with online tools for determining if your mortgage is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac:
- Use Fannie Mae’s Loan Lookup Tool
- Or call 1-800-2FANNIE (1-800-232-6643)
- Use Freddie Mac’s Loan Lookup Tool
- Or call 1-800-FREDDIE (1-800-373-3343)
Additionally, the FHFA has established a dedicated webpage with relevant updates and resources available here.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, our license examination vendor, PSI, has communicated plans to close all of the testing sites in Ohio and across the country as of, March 19, 2020 through April 13, 2020.
Therefore, candidates should not report to Test Centering sites. The latest information on PSI’s operational updates and rescheduling procedures can be found here.
Ohio’s real estate appraisers and appraisal management companies may follow The Appraisal Foundation’s COVID-19 page for guidance on questions and concerns: http://www.appraisalfoundation.org/iMIS/TAF/Coronavirus_and_Appraisers.aspx
At this time, we have no indication that there is any imminent action to postpone funerals or burials. Governor DeWine and ODH Director Dr. Action have created a new website for you to obtain real-time information about the virus. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has also updated their website with information on COVID-19. Specific information for Deathcare Workers and Employers can be found towards the bottom of the DOL page.
As we all continue to navigate this new world with all of our credentialed professionals, please take steps to stay safe. The Division asks for your patience during this difficult time as we work through this public health emergency to respond to your needs. We will continue to follow the guidance of Governor DeWine in the coming days and weeks and will be in touch with updates surrounding all of our programs. Feel free to contact the Division at 614-466-4100 or email@example.com.
